Installation
------------
Install InTempo.pkg as you would with other Newton software, by downloading it to your device using the Newton Connection Utilities, Newton Backup Utility, Newton Package Installer, or other package installation utility. In Tempo will install an icon into the Extras Drawer.
Use
---
Tap on the In Tempo icon to open it.
Tap on the Start button to start the metronome. Tap on the Stop button to stop.
You may access the preferences by tapping the Info button and tapping Prefs. You may also access the preferences by tapping the small triangle.
You may change the tempo by tapping on the tempo display and choosing a tempo from the popup list. You may adjust the tempo by tapping on the arrow buttons. The arrow pointing up will increase the tempo, and the arrow pointing down will decrease the tempo.
Tapping on the piano button will play the note A (440Hz).
Options
-------
You may have In Tempo play a different sound for the upbeat, and you may choose how many beats between each downbeat.
You may have In Tempo flash the backlight (if it exists) for each beat.
The Use System Volume preference allows you to use the volume that is set for the Newton.
The Beat Volume preference allows you to set a volume for In Tempo separate from the system volume.
Shareware
---------
In Tempo is shareware. When unregistered, In Tempo will work with no restrictions for 30 days or 250 uses, whichever occurs first. After that, a reminder will appear each time it is used unregistered and In Tempo will reset the tempo to 60 beats per minute.
Registration cost is US$15. You may register using Kagi through:

About Owner Card-based Registration
-----------------------------------
In Tempo uses Owner Card registration. This requires that your registered name appears on the active Owner Card.
If you do temporarily switch to another Owner Card, In Tempo will give you a peaceful grace period to return to the registered Owner Card. If you do not switch to the original Owner Card within the grace period, In Tempo will then give you warnings on each use. However, once you do return to the original Owner Card and use In Tempo, the grace period will be reset.
NewtonID
--------
In Tempo is NewtonID aware, and will use it if it is present on your Newton device. If you later remove the NewtonID user name, In Tempo will use the Owner Card.
NewtonID is an initiative proposed by Foundation Systems that provides a single stable user name to a Newton device. It requires that you install it in order to set your NewtonID user name. Once it is set, however, the software is not required and may be removed.
